I have been a member of NCCC since 2015 when I purchased my first Corvette. I started out as a

Member at Large (MAL) and have been very active as one of the top competitors in the East Region

since 2016.

Once I retired at the end of 2021, I decided to join the Bel Air Corvette Club with the BACC friends I had

been running with since 2016.

If you attend East Region Corvette events, you probably have seen me dressed in YELLOW (to match my

2005 C6), and taking photos which I make available free to all members from my SmugMug website. I

have been turning wrenches since age 14 and dreamed of having a YELLOW Corvette since high school.

Due to my Vette matching wardrobe, some have branded me as Mr. YELLOW! I try to attend as many

BACC, East Region and Convention (PC and Judged car shows), Rallyes, Funkhanas and recently,

AutoCross Events as possible.

Professionally I am an Electrical Engineer, have a Masters in Systems Engineering. I worked as an

International Program Manager (Unmanned Air Vehicle Division) for the last 22 years of my career. On

the side, I am a published photographer and Photoshop expert creating Car Show boards, Photo

Collages and car design/modification concepts, along with installing various modifications for fellow

Corvette owners (Pop’s Garage).

Feel free to talk to me about anything. See you at the next Event!

Treasurer - Nelson Smith III

One of the original members of the Bel Air Corvette Club (when it was founded in 1973), Nelson has lived in Harford County all his life and now lives in Jarrettsville, MD with his wife Sandy. He has four sons and 5 grand children that are spread out from Bel Air to Mobile AL, to Copenhagen, Denmark, and San Diego, CA. For 45 years, Nelson and his brother have co-owned Smith Hardware in Jarrettsville and are still active in the day-to-day operation.

Nelson owns a 1965 C2 green-green convertible he purchased in 1973 thanks to George Gallant, one of the founders of the Bel Air Corvette Club. In 2014, the '65 was retired from autocrossing and high speed track time to be restored for shows - no more fast laps around Summit Point raceway for this beauty. Since 2006, Nelson has owned a Pewter 2000 C5 that was purchased for autocrossing and track time.

Sergeant-At-Arms - Bob Gutowski

Bob and his wife Carol have been members of BACC for 9 years. We were raised and currently live in Baltimore County. We have been married for 40 years. We have two children and 3 grandsons. After retiring after 42 years as a Supervisor for Amtrak, it was time to have some fun. I always wanted a Corvette since my first ride in one back in high school. It took me four years of searching, I finally found my Corvette, a 2005, Daytona Sunset Orange, Z-51. My wife and I enjoy the car shows and events. But most of all we enjoy the people in the club.
